Technical background

This is a simple Zope based DIY website, hosted at lxcluster.at, a very good Zope webhost.

Everything here is done in XHTML and CSS for maximum standards compliance and download speed. I don't use flash because I think flash photography pages are typically loading too slowly and often too much bling-bling. I don't need javascript either, everything is done through CSS or serverside. W3C's validators say everything is fine.

Accessibility

Web accessibility is of great importance to me in the same way that I require the public infrastructure to be wheelchair-accesible so that I can use it. I think the internet is a great chance for visually impaired people to gather all sorts of information much more convenient than with printed media. However, apart from separating content and presentation and putting logic structure into my site, it fails complete accessibility. This is because I think that I understand one or two things about photography, but I simply can't translate my pictures into written text that makes the same impression that I hope my pictures make on their own. I hope you can understand my attitude. If not, please let me know!

Why do I do this?

Because I can. It's fun, too!
